Length of Germination of Grass Seed

Grass seed will germinate and show sprouts between five to 30 days after planting, depending on the species. The annual ryegrass quickly germinates and shows sprouts five to 10 days after planting. Perennial Kentucky bluegrass slowly germinates and shows sprouts between 14 to 30 days after planting.
