Coconut palms (Cocos nucifera) grow only in the warmest areas of USDA zones 10 and 11--southernmost Florida, for example. Zone 10's average annual minimum temperature is 30 to 40 degrees F. Zone 11's average annual minimum temperature is above 40 degrees F.
