Daffodil Planting Depth in Mulch

Do not plant daffodils directly in mulch, as mulch alone doesn't provide enough insulation to prevent freezing during the winter cooling period. Plant daffodils at an 8-inch depth, including a 2- or 3-inch layer of mulch applied above the soil.
