Can Shrubs Grow in Tropical Climates?

Certain shrubs grow and thrive very well in tropical climates. Among these are wax myrtle, sea grape, cocoplum, saw palmetto and bay cedar. These grow especially well in areas known as "scrub zones," which are stabilized dunes with richer organic matter and lower salinity in the soil.
