Plants need 17 nutrients to grow and thrive.Organic soil that is enriched with compost has all the nutrients plants need. Standard fertilizers feed nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to plants but do not enrich the soil. Organic soil supports the microorganisms that feed nutrients to growing plants.
