Are Coconut Palms True Trees?

Coconut palms are true trees with a trunk reaching 80 to 100 feet. The tree trunk is topped with a crown of 20-foot-long leaves. Coconut palm trees begin producing coconuts when they are 5 years old. It takes a full year to grow a mature nut.
