Which Tree Produces Palm Oil?

Palm oil comes from the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis), native to West Africa's tropical rain forests. Extracted from the fleshy portion of the fruit, palm oil is used to produce cooking fats, soaps and candles. Palm oil is also used as a lubricant for rubber and textiles.
