Mimosa plants are commonly planted in gardens that attract butterflies. Adult butterflies gather nectar from the mimosa blossoms. Other plants butterflies feed on are chinaberry, chaste tree, zinnia, thistle, hibiscus, mistflower, sweet pea and honeysuckle.
