Is a Butterfly Bush a Woody or a Non Woody Plant?

Although the butterfly bush (Buddleia) is considered a woody shrub, they are more often used as an herbaceous perennial. The butterfly bush produces a 6- to 24-inch-long cluster of colorful flowers that attract both butterflies and bees to the garden.
