When to Pick Berries on a Wintergreen
Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens) berries should be picked as soon as they have reached their bright red color. They can be eaten raw, used to make tea, or baked in pies and cobblers. These berries have also been used for medicinal purposes to relieve pain, lower fevers and to treat cold symptoms.
