When to Plant Tomatoes in North Idaho

Choose quick-maturing tomato varieties that ripen in 68 to 75 days. Grow tomatoes from seed indoors or purchase transplants to set in the ground in raised beds before the last predicted frost, which may be in May, June or even July in some north Idaho locations. Protect the tender plants with row covers, tunnels or hoop houses.
