The nectarine (P. persica var. nucipersica ) is a fruit variety related to the peach (P. persica). Nectarines and peaches look similar except that the peach has a fuzzy skin, while the nectarine's skin appears smooth. Nectarines, like peaches, come in a range of colors including pink, yellow, red and white.
