Hyazinthus is a common misspelling for the plant hyacinth. Hyacinth bulbs produce deep green spear-like leaves and fragrant flowers. The plant grows 6 to 12 inches tall. The bulb produces leaves and flowers in spring and goes into dormancy in fall and winter. The flowers are very fragrant and come in a variety of colors, such as red, yellow, blue, purple, and white.
