Dips are a great way to add flavor to a plain cracker. A fruit-based dip is also tasty for breakfast when spread over a bagel or piece of toast. One such fruit dip is an apple pecan dip. You don't have to purchase this dip at the store. Just gather some dried apples and fresh pecans and make the dip mix yourself. You can stir the mix with some sour cream and cream cheese when you are ready to eat it.
Place 1 cup of dried apple slices in a food processor and process until the slices become close to a powder.
Place the powdered apples slices in a plastic zipper bag and add a 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans.
Add 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon, and 1/3 cup brown sugar to the plastic zipper bag and close shut.
Store the apple pecan dip mix in a cool dry place until you are ready to use it to make a dip.
Stir the dip mix in a bowl of 8 oz. softened cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, 4 oz. water, and 1 tsp. honey. Serve immediately after mixing.
