Yubi Scarlet flowers make ideal garden plants. They have large, showy summer flowers. They require a minimum of maintenance and are perfect for growing in the hot, humid weather that would wilt other plants. Yubi Scarlet is as easy to propagate as it is to grow. Like any plant, the seedlings will need extra care until they are established and on their way to maturity. After that, they will develop the drought tolerance and self-sustainability that make this a popular ornamental.
Till the planting area. Loosen and turn the soil to a depth of 6 to 8 inches with a hand tiller. Remove any weeds, roots or debris that you encounter along the way. Rake the planting area smooth.
Sow the seeds in spring when the temperatures have warmed and all threat of frost has passed. Mix the minuscule seeds with enough sand to evenly cover the planting area with a thin layer. Then evenly scatter the seed/sand mixture over the prepared soil.
Water the seeds with a gentle spray of water from a hose until the top 2 to 3 inches of the soil are moist. Continue to keep the soil moist at this depth until the Yubi Scarlet seeds germinate.
