Is Tomato Plant Food Good for a Hanging Basket?

Plant food or fertilizers specifically designed for tomatoes will not have a sufficient level of nitrogen needed for proper growth by most other plants, especially ornamental plants such as flowers. Use a high-nitrogen basic fertilizer for hanging baskets, unless you've planted tomatoes in the baskets.
