How to Make Pumpkin Floral Centerpieces


Pumpkins add a creative touch to floral centerpieces. By using different colors of flowers, you can create a unique and colorful arrangement. Select different sized pumpkins to add versatility and a unique style. You can make use of this natural showpiece to reveal your creative side.

Step 1

Purchase a ripe pumpkin with a pleasing shape. Choose a size consistent with the desired size of the floral centerpiece. Make sure the pumpkin will sit stably upright on its base.

Step 2

Purchase flowers and embellishments such as oak leaves, pine cones, sprigs of ivy or colorful berries for the centerpiece. Use the pumpkin size to determine the amount of flowers and embellishments to purchase.

Step 3

Cut off the top of the pumpkin and clean out the interior. Make the opening large enough for the metal can to fit into the pumpkin. Make sure to remove all seeds and stringy pulp from the pumpkin using a large spoon.

Step 4

Insert the metal can into the pumpkin. Pour water into the can until it is about 3/4 full.

Step 5

Place the flowers and embellishments into the metal can. Trim the stems to the lengths that will give you the look you want.

Step 6

Refill the water in the can each day.

Step 7

Refresh the arrangement by replacing fading and wilting flowers.
