Cranberry Apple Salad With Vinaigrette Dressing

Salads are great all year long, but especially tasty in summer if you took the time to grow your own fruits and vegetables. If you are looking for the perfect salad to go with a nice piece of grilled steak or chicken, consider making a cranberry apple salad. You can also make your own vinaigrette dressing to pour on it. The dressing can be made ahead and stored in the fridge till you are ready to use it.

Step 1

Place 6 cups of mixed salad greens, 1/2 of a red onion that has been chopped, 1/2 cup cooked cranberries, 2 cups diced apples, and 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts in a large salad bowl. Toss the ingredients and set aside.

Step 2

Pour 1 cup extra virgin olive oil and 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar in a salad dressing shaker.

Step 3

Add 1/4 tsp. of pepper, 1/4 tsp. of salt, 1/4 tsp. of oregano and 3 cloves of chopped garlic in your salad dressing shaker.

Step 4

Shake the ingredients in the salad dressing shaker until they are completely combined. Then pour over the salad.

Step 5

Toss the salad one final time and serve.
