Jewish Apple Salad

Jewish custom dictates that only kosher foods should be eaten. Parve foods are those that are safe to have with either meat or dairy, because they are completely neutral. This recipe, provided by the National Jewish Health website, is for a parve salad that is kosher for both regular use and during feasts. It serves four.

Step 1

Place pomegranate seeds, diced Granny Smith apples, slivered almonds, spinach and celery in a salad bowl and mix.

Step 2

Combine orange juice and honey in a small bowl and whisk until completely blended.

Step 3

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until completely blended. Let stand for 10 minutes, tossing occasionally before serving for optimal flavor.
