Can Shrubby Hypericum Grow in Shade?

Shrubby Hypericum (Hypericum prolificum) prefers full sun to partial shade. It does not grow well in deep, dark shade. This perennial herb tolerates both damp and arid conditions in USDA plant hardiness zones 4 to 8.
