How to Make an Apple Cobbler

After you pick a batch of ripe juicy apples, you can use them in several kinds of desserts. If you’re looking for a recipe that is easier than apple pie, try apple cobbler. It is a sweet and aromatic dessert that's best served warm and topped with vanilla ice cream.

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Wash eight Red Delicious apples in cool running water and then cut each apple into thin slices.

Step 2

Spread your apples slices evenly in baking pan. Add sugar and cinnamon to a large bowl and mix. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the mixture over the apples in the baking pan.

Step 3

Add all-purpose flour, eggs, salt, brown sugar and baking soda to large bowl with the remaining sugar and cinnamon.

Step 4

Use an electric mixer to beat the mixture until all of the ingredients are well blended. Spread evenly over the apples.

Step 5

Add butter to a small pot and melt on medium-high heat. Pour the melted butter over the ingredients in the baking pan.

Step 6

Bake the apple cobbler for 45 to 50 minutes or until the top turns golden brown. Let the apple cobbler cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
