Candied Apple Salad

A candied apple salad is designed to enhance the flavor of fresh, crisp tart apples by surrounding them in a sweet and slightly tart sauce. This recipe uses eggs and whipped topping, so avoid leaving the salad in a non-refrigerated place for prolonged periods.

Step 1

Place the saucepan on the stove and warm to a medium heat.

Step 2

Combine the sugar, pineapple, flour, egg and vinegar in the saucepan and stir until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and cool.

Step 3

Combine the apples, sauce and whipped topping in a salad bowl and gently stir together.

Step 4

Garnish with the chopped dry roasted peanuts and serve.
