Homemade Baked Sweet Potato Chips

Overview

Save money and calories by preparing your own homemade baked sweet potato chips at home. This alternative snack to white potato chips has a fresher flavor and an appealing color to entice even the pickiest of eaters to indulge.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Peel a large sweet potato with a vegetable peeler.

Step 3

Use a vegetable slicer or mandolin to slice the sweet potato into paper thin rounds.

Step 4

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and arrange the sweet potato slices on top.

Step 5

Lightly coat the tops of the sweet potato slices with a spritz of cooking spray.

Step 6

Bake the sweet potato chips in the oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes, flipping the chips on the baking sheet after 7 minutes.

Step 7

Remove the chips to a wire rack until they become cool and crisp.

Step 8

Sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste before serving, if desired.
