How To Make Homemade Applesauce Cookies


Bake a batch of moist and flavorful cookies, using applesauce to create a soft textured, fruity treat filled with the wholesomeness of applesauce and oatmeal. Have a large glass of milk on hand for enjoying these cookies anytime of the day for a sweet treat with less guilt.

Step 1

Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Combine the flour, oatmeal, cinnamon, salt and baking soda in one mixing bowl.

Step 3

Stir together the applesauce, egg, brown sugar, butter and vanilla in a second bowl.

Step 4

Pour one half of the flour and oatmeal mixture into the applesauce mixture, stirring to incorporate.

Step 5

Repeat mixing the remaining flour mixture into the applesauce until all the ingredients form a cookie dough ball.

Step 6

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, and drop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet by teaspoons. Leave two inches of space between each cookie.

Step 7

Bake the cookies at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned, and allow to cool before serving.
