Creamy Apple Salad

Preparing a fresh apple salad gives a sweet and crunchy alternative to cole slaw or potato salad. Use apples best for salads, which do not brown quickly after being cut. Cook's Thesaurus recommends using one of the following for salads: Golden Delicious, Pink Lady, Gala, Cortland, Empire, Red Delicious, Fuji, Criterion or Winesap.

Step 1

Beat the heavy whipping cream with a mixer until the cream is doubled in bulk.

Step 2

Add the sugar and beat until peaks remain standing upright in the whipped cream when you pull out the beaters.

Step 3

Gently fold the apples, celery, pecan halves and raisins into the whipped cream.

Step 4

Chill for two hours to combine the flavors before serving.
