Cream cheese, brown sugar and vanilla dip is great for dipping apples, strawberries and other fruit. The flavor is reminiscent of caramel. Heat the dip in the microwave, if you like, for a warm caramel flavor. Serve in a small bowl surrounded by fruit and garnished with a few chopped pecans. You can use a low fat or fat free cream cheese for a low fat version of this dip.
Remove the cream cheese from the refrigerator approximately one hour before making the dip. Allow it to come to room temperature to soften it.
Combine 8 oz. of softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp. of vanilla. Mix with a hand mixer on medium speed until fluffy.
Add 1 to 2 tbsp. of milk to thin the dip to the desired consistency, mixing well.
