How To Make a Strawberry Pie

Strawberry pie is the ultimate summer treat, and can be served cold or warm. With a fresh strawberry bottom and a juicy strawberry mix filling, this pie is simple to make and requires very little time commitment, while feeding six to eight people at the same time. Whether you make it as a gift, a simple treat or for a holiday, a strawberry pie is one of the sweetest fruit pies you can make.

Step 1

Mix the sugar and the cornstarch in a pot on the stove top until combined. Add the water and lemon juice, then bring to a boil.

Step 2

Add the crushed strawberries after the mixture has been boiling for about five minutes. Reduce to medium heat. Continue to stir the mixture until it is clear and has a syrupy consistency.

Step 3

Wash the whole strawberries and slice each one in half. Lay them face up on the bottom of the pie shell. Use an unbaked pie shell if you want a second one on top.

Step 4

Pour the simmered filling over the halved strawberries. Lay a second pie shell over the top if desired, or you can freeze without. If you do not use a second pie shell, the bottom one can be pre-baked.

Step 5

Garnish the strawberry pie slices with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or whatever else you like.
