Sweet but healthy homemade baked apple bars have a fresher flavor than packaged varieties, which are full of preservatives. Use apples from your own trees if desired, or pick up fresh apples from the market. Make a batch of these apple bars for a sweet breakfast, fruity dessert or bake sale offering.
Spray the inside of the baking dish with cooking spray, and preheat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit.
Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the baking dish to completely cover the base of the dish.
Scatter the chopped apples over the cookie dough.
Combine the oatmeal, melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
Sprinkle the oatmeal topping over the apples.
Bake the apple bars at 350° Fahrenheit for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool completely before cutting into 1 inch by 2 inch bars and serving.
