Lawns can come under attack from different enemies. Lack of water will cause grass to go dormant or die, and fungus or other diseases can cause dead patches and create growth problems. Bugs are a big issue in some lawns, eating the roots of the grass and causing it to die. Insecticides to eliminate these pests can be expensive, but you can also make a homemade bug killer.
Chop up 10 garlic cloves and set them aside until they have completely dried out. This might take a day or two.
Smash the garlic into powder and combine it with 4 tbsp. of water in a bowl. Set it aside for a couple hours.
Combine the garlic mix and 1 gallon of water in a bucket.
Use a strainer and pour the water from one bucket to the other. This will get rid of any large particles.
Test the mix in a small area first and wait a day to make sure that it won't react with your type of grass. Then, pour the mix into a sprayer and apply on the lawn.
