Beth Gee's Strawberry Vinegar


Fill a jar nearly full of rinsed, whole California strawberries-do not hull. Cover with white vinegar and seal jar. Let stand for 10 days; strain; add to liquid 1 1/2 cups sugar to each pint. Boil gently a few minutes. Cool and bottle for use.


Serve over romaine lettuce with sliced, fresh orange pieces. Mix vinegar with vegetable oil (do not use canola oil).
