Almost every homeowner faces a few patches of grass growing in unwanted places. Grass can grow between the smallest of cracks, including cracks on your sidewalk. It doesn't seem worth it to buy a big bottle of grass killer from your local home improvement store to kill a few tiny patches of grass. Fortunately, you can make your own inexpensive homemade grass killer with items you probably already have on hand.
Pour 2 cups of vinegar in an empty spray bottle. Vinegar is one of the two main ingredients used to kill any type of vegetation, including grass.
Add 1/8 cup of table salt to your vinegar. It may fizz for a second, but salt is the other main ingredient that has the power to destroy any type of vegetation. Salt is necessary if you do not want the grass to grow back.
Finish your homemade grass killer with 1 tsp. of liquid detergent and 1/2 tsp. of orange oil. Mix all of the ingredients together in your spray bottle. These last two ingredients will help the vinegar and salt stick to the grass to kill it.
Spray the grass you want to kill with the homemade grass killer until the grass is soaked.
