Starting and maintaining a container garden not only provides you with a variety of lush flora and foliage, but it also adds beauty to your environment. Decorating your garden container pots adds extra beauty to the appearance of your container garden whether it be outdoors or inside your home. Decorating your garden pots allows you to decide on the type of look you want to create, and it is also a simple task to complete.
Select plain garden pots that haven't been decorated or embellished with painted designs. Terracotta pots, wooden planter boxes and plastic bins can be decorated with ease.
Place a stencil of your choosing on the surface of one of the garden containers. A stencil choice for an outdoor pot can be a floral design or butterflies.
Fill the stencil on the surface of the pot with an acrylic paint color of your choice. Allow the paint to dry for 10 minutes and remove the stencil carefully.
Repeat this step with all of your garden pots. A useful and decorative idea is to paint a picture on the pot to correspond with what's growing in it. For example, a pot containing decorative flowers can be decorated with floral stencils, and a pot containing tomatoes and peppers can be decorated with pepper stencils.
Paint a label on each garden pot in your own decorative style. One pot can say herb garden and another can say flowers. Use a fine-bristled paint brush to do this.
