Homemade Solution for Killing Yard Weeds

When it comes to killing yard weeds, there are many products you can find in your home that are effective weed killers. One of those products is Borax. Borax can be found on the laundry aisle of any grocery store. It contains the ingredient boron, which is toxic to weeds in large amounts. Creating this homemade weed killer for your yard is very easy to do.

Step 1

Pour the water in your backpack sprayer. If you don't have a backpack sprayer, you can use a garden sprayer. Backpack sprayers are easier to carry around.

Step 2

Add Borax to the backpack sprayer. Secure the lid on the backpack sprayer and shake it until the ingredients have combined.

Step 3

Spray across your yard wherever you see weeds. This homemade weed killer will cover 1,000 sq. ft. of lawn. If you need more, just double or triple the recipe.

Step 4

Re-apply four days later to kill any tough weeds.

Tips and Warnings

  • Do not apply Borax weed killer to flower or vegetable gardens. It is best to hand-pull the weeds in those locations.
