Topsy Turvy tomato planters enable you to grow tomato plants in a unique way. Rather than growing from the ground up, Topsy Turvy planters hang upside-down so the tomatoes hang in the air. Not only does this conserve garden space, but it also reduces the risk of pests that could otherwise infest the plant. While the position of the plant is completely different than in traditional growing methods, the watering needs remain the same.
Fill a watering can with water. If you have a garden hose with a spray attachment, you can use this instead of the watering can.
Remove the lid from the top of the planter and set it aside in a safe spot.
Pour or spray water slowly in the top of the planter until water begins to drip out from the bottom. Do not worry about adding too much, as any excess water will drain out.
Replace the lid after you add water.
Repeat the process every other day. If the leaves begin to wilt or turn brown, add water immediately and increase the watering regimen to one time every day.
