Squirrels are actually small rodents that have soft fur and bushy tails. Squirrels have a bad reputation for destroying gardens. This is because their main food source is any type of vegetation. If you find that squirrels are destroying your vegetables or other plants, you can fight back. You can make a homemade squirrel repellent using hot peppers as a main ingredient. This works because squirrels are sensitive to the capsaicin found in the peppers.
Pour 1 gallon of water in a small bucket. Add floor soap and mix the two ingredients.
Drop in your cayenne pepper and mix the ingredients again.
Pour your homemade squirrel repellent in a spray bottle.
Spray the repellent around your garden to keep the squirrels away.
Repeat once every other week, or after a heavy rainfall to continue to keep squirrels away.
