There are spots on your property where unwanted grass and weeds grow. This can be in cracks in your sidewalks, or around the edges of your mailbox. If you find patches of grass and weeds that you want removed, look to the items in your cupboard to get rid of them. You will be surprised at what you already have available to you that can actually kill grass and weeds.
Pour bleach into a spray bottle and spray your unwanted grass and weeds with it. Bleach makes the alkaline levels too high for the grass and weeds to survive. When working with bleach you may want to wear a pair of gloves because bleach can irritate your skin.
Pour vinegar or lemon juice in a spray bottle and squirt it on your grass and leaves. The acetic acid in these two ingredients will eat away at the weeds and grass and cause them to die. It works best if you apply it during the hottest part of the day.
Sprinkle salt over the lines where you don't want the grass and weeds to grow. This is a good choice if you want to make sure the grass and weeds in that area do not grow back. The salt will remain in the soil after the grass and weeds have been killed, keeping new grass and weeds from growing.
Spread four sheets of newspaper over the area of grass and weeds you want to kill. Let it sit there for two weeks. Without sunlight, the grass and weeds will die.
