How to Dry Flowers & Frame Them

Whether you're preserving flowers from a memorable occasion or you simply want to add some natural appeal to your home decor, drying and framing flowers is an easy project. Create one-of-a-kind works of art to decorate your home or to give friends and loved ones using a few basic materials.

Step 1

Choose two or three colorful flowers to dry and frame, such as a sunflower, rose and snapdragon.

Step 2

Snip the stems from each of the flowers, leaving only the buds. Remove a few pieces of foliage from the stems and set aside.

Step 3

Place the blooms, facing up, on the center of one of the acrylic sheets. Arrange them however you see fit, placing them side by side or in a triangular formation.

Step 4

Tuck some of the leaves surrounding and between the flower blossoms to create a pleasing arrangement.

Step 5

Squeeze a line of hot glue around the outermost border of the acrylic sheet.

Step 6

Place the other acrylic sheet on top, pinning the blooms between them.

Step 7

Allow the glue about 10 minutes to dry.

Step 8

Place the flower display into a picture frame of the same size.
