Whole Wheat Apple Muffins

12 muffins


1 cup flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup lowfat milk
1/4 cup oil
1 egg, beaten
1 cup finely chopped Golden Delicious apple
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Combine flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and allspice. Add milk, oil, egg; stir only until ingredients are blended. Fold in apples. Fill 12 greased muffin cups almost full. Bake at 400 degrees F. about 30 miutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.
